I have faced death square in the eye on at least three separate occasions and have no rational explanation as for why it didn't take except that I'm a stubborn foole. I was told after shattering my foot that I might never walk again with a regular gait and replied that that was a completely unacceptable outcome. I held my father's hand as he took his dying breath. I held my son's head in my hands while he was being born and the rest of him hadn't made it out into the world yet. My world has conspired to make me thoroughly grateful for every breath I am blessed with, every step I am gifted with taking, every smile that I cause, every laugh I am able to share in, every hug I am able to give, and for being able to make my way doing the things that I love ~ circus, music, & teaching. I am devoutly thankful for the opportunity to find beauty and joy in every single day, because I trust that it's there waiting to be discovered in the most unsuspecting of places. I am eternally thankful to the mother of my child, for bringing such fathomless wonder into this world, and to my son who effortlessly keeps it real. To all of my family and friends, your presence is deeply and most sincerely appreciated ~ I am truly blessed to be surrounded by such awesomeness, and I am undoubtedly richer for the knowing. Thank you for all of the gifts you freely give, and especially for the ones you're not even aware you're giving. I am blessed with an extraordinary and wondrous partner with whom I share an animated depth I never knew was possible. I am thankful to love, and be loved, for that is the only thing that truly matters in this world. In this, I am an extraordinarily wealthy man. And in this spirit, this track was born...
